Shops & Trading
Opens Phantom, which shows everything the plugin may do and waits for you to allow each line before any of its code runs.
Browse every den shop in a den and buy several things at once, keep a dashboard of your sales and restock what sold, find which dens are selling what you are after, and keep a wishlist that tells you when one turns up.
Listing edited by Phantom staff
A cart for den shops, a log of what your own shop sells, the trade lists of everyone in your room, a wishlist that tells you when one of your items turns up, and a few things the game's shops normally keep to themselves.
It works through Phantom's SDK: every purchase, listing and trade is the request the game itself would send. Animal Jam still decides what you can buy and who will trade with you.
Den shops and the cart
Open the Den shops panel while you're in someone's den. It finds every shop stand there, the owner's and anyone else's, and puts every listing in one list you can search.
Add puts a listing in your cart. Once you've picked a few, go to the Cart tab and press Buy all. Each one is bought in turn, the same as clicking through the shop windows yourself. The shop is checked again before each purchase, so if a listing's gone or its price has changed since you added it, that line stays in your cart instead of being bought at a price you never agreed to.
Buying is instant and can't be undone, so use it carefully: your gems and diamonds are spent the moment you buy. Stop cancels the rest without touching what's left in the cart.
You can't buy from your own shop, and neither can the game, so your own den's listings show up without an add button.
Sales
Sales is a log of everything that's sold from your den shop while a game was open. Animal Jam tells you what sold, for how much, and your new balance, but never who bought it, so neither does the log.
Totals sit at the top for today, the last seven days or all time, and you can look at one player or all of them. It's kept on your computer, and Clear the log throws it away.
Restocking
With Restock my den shop on, when something sells the plugin looks for another copy of it among your things and lists it again at the same price, using the same requests the den shop editor sends. It only lists a spare that isn't worn, isn't placed in your den and isn't already up for sale. Pets are never restocked: every pet is one of a kind.
It lists things for sale without asking you each time, so it's off to start with, and it's your call whether to turn it on.
Trade market
The Trade market panel has two tabs, Trades and Wishlist. Trades is everything the players in your room have up for trade, in one list. It keeps itself up to date: it hears who walks in and who leaves, and it hears every trade list the server sends, whoever asked for it, so a card opened in the game fills a row here for nothing. The only time it asks the server for something itself is when someone in the room has no list yet, and those requests go through one queue, one player at a time with a pause between, at the pace of opening each card by hand. Someone who has just walked in goes to the front of that queue, and so does anyone you search for by name. A list that never comes is tried again after a wait, and the queue is thrown away when you leave the room. Nothing is read again on a timer, and there's no button to press.
The line above the list says how many items from how many players are showing, and how far along the queue is. Rows for someone who has left the room are held at the bottom and marked, rather than disappearing while you're reading them.
Each row shows the item beside its name, in the colour its owner has it, and a pet in the look its owner gave it. The pictures are the game's own art: the client draws the item off screen, the same way a shop row or an inventory tile draws one, so nothing is fetched from Animal Jam that the game wouldn't have fetched anyway. A row asks for its picture as it scrolls into view, each picture is drawn once and kept while the panel is open, and anything that won't draw keeps the name it always had. The den shops list and the cart show them too.
Trade opens that player's card in the game. Their trade tab has the item on it, so you pick what to offer and they decide whether to accept. Nothing is offered on your behalf.
Searching it
Type in the box and the list follows a moment later. Words can come in any order and match part of a name, so spike collar finds a Rare Spiked Collar and so does collar rare. Case, apostrophes and hyphens make no difference, so jamaaliday-bow is the same as Jamaaliday Bow. Put words in quotes to keep them together ("long collar"), and start a word with @ or from: to mean the player rather than the item, so @sxip is everything one player has up without also matching their name against items. Press / or Ctrl F anywhere in the panel to get to the box, and Escape to empty it. Clear empties it too, and the empty list offers to do the same when nothing matches.
Sort the list by item, by player or by what came in last, and filter it to clothing, den items or pets. The panel opens as you left it.
The wishlist, from here
Press the star on any row to add that item to your wishlist, or press it again to take it off. Rows on your wishlist are marked Wanted and sit at the top, and Only what I want hides everything else. The wishlist itself is the panel's other tab.
Wishlist
The Wishlist tab is the items you're after. Add one by name, with suggestions from items the plugin has already come across, take one off with Remove, or clear the lot with Clear the lot. Each one shows who in your room has it, and the line under the box says how many of them are here. It's one list however you change it, so a star pressed on the Trades tab shows up here straight away, and the other way round.
Matching works the same as the search: every word of the wish has to be somewhere in the item's name, in any order and part way through a word, so spike collar covers a Rare Spiked Collar.
Tell me when one turns up gives you a desktop notification when someone in your room has one of them. It's on to start with. The watching happens alongside the game rather than in a panel, so it works whether or not you have anything open, and it doesn't repeat itself: one notice per item, per room. Turn the switch off and it says nothing at all. If you turned notifications off when you installed the plugin, the switch says so, and the rest of the list still works; you can allow them again in Plugins.
While the Trade market panel is open, on either tab, it's already doing the rounds of the room, so the watcher doesn't ask the server for the same lists twice.
The wishlist is kept on your computer, under the Animal Jam player it belongs to, so two accounts on one computer keep their own.
Shop tester
Shop tester lists every shop the game knows by its list number, with what kind it is, and opens any of them the way its door in Jamaa would. Useful for reaching a shop you can't get to, or seeing what a list number really is. The server still decides what the shop stocks and what it'll sell you.
What the game's shops show
Three switches on the Shop settings panel change what the game draws on your screen, and nothing else:
- Every animal and pet in the shops shows every animal and pet the game has a definition for in the animal shop and the pet shop, not just the ones on sale this season or the ones you've unlocked.
- Party accessories in the pet salon gives the everyday pet salon the extra accessories it usually keeps for its party version.
- Remember my prices starts your den shop's price box at whatever you asked for that item last time, instead of the game's 50 gems or 1 diamond. An item already listed keeps its price.
The first two need the plugin to be allowed to change the game client, which you can decline when you install it; the rest still works.
Seeing something in a shop isn't the same as being able to buy it. Animal Jam decides that, and it refuses anything it wouldn't sell you normally, the same as for anyone. Turn a switch off and the shops go back to the way the game draws them.
What it can see
Den shops in dens you visit, what sells from your own, the trade lists of players in your room, your items and den items (to know what it can restock), and the game's own shop and item definitions. The sales log, your cart, the prices it remembers, your wishlist and the switches are kept on your computer, and nothing leaves it.
What it can do
You allow each of these in Phantom when you install it.
- See the game and draw over itgame:read
Everything the game shows and holds: the room, the people in it, your animal, your items and the game’s own screens. It can hear what happens in the game, draw on top of it, and hide or restyle what is on your screen. With this alone it cannot act for you. Only in the games you choose.
- Act in the game as youHigh riskgame:act
Anything you could do in the game yourself: walk, chat, trade, buy, press the game’s own buttons, and change how the game behaves. Some of that spends gems or diamonds, and a trade cannot be undone. Only allow a plugin you trust.
- Read the game’s trafficpackets:read
The messages between the game and Animal Jam, as they pass. Never your sign in.
- Send and receive data from api.phantm.siteHigh riskOptionalnetwork:api.phantm.site
Only api.phantm.site, over HTTPS. What it sends there is between you and the plugin’s author.
- Show notificationsOptionalnotifications
On your desktop, with the plugin’s name.
- Only the games you pick
Everything above applies to the Animal Jam accounts you choose to run it on, and to no others. A new plugin runs on none until you pick.
Marked scopes: a person at Phantom reads each version that asks for one before it is listed. Optional: you can turn it off when you install. The rest still works.
