Membership
Opens Phantom, which shows everything the plugin may do and waits for you to allow each line before any of its code runs.
Shows you as a member in your own game at whatever level you want, and it remembers it for each of your players. Only your game is changed, so Animal Jam still decides what members actually get and other players will see your account normally.

Makes your game show you as a member: the HUD, your name bar and the settings screen.
It's cosmetic and only on your screen. Animal Jam still knows what your account really is, so members-only rooms, clothes, den items and adventures stay locked, and other players see you as normal.
Using it
Open the Membership panel beside a game and turn on Show me as a member. If you're already logged in it kicks in straight away.
Level is Member or Beta member. They look the same in the current game.
Days left is what the settings screen shows. Leave it on no end date: with only a few days left, the game pops up its "membership running out" message every time you log in.
It remembers the setting for each player, so next time that account logs in it's a member from the start. Turn it off, or turn the plugin off, and you're back to your real membership.
The panel also shows your real membership underneath, so you can always tell which is which.
What it changes
Only things coming into your game, never anything going out:
- the login reply, which tells the game whether you're a member
- a membership being redeemed mid-game, so a real one doesn't overwrite your setting
- your own avatar in each room, which is where the name bar comes from
The one exception: the first time the game thinks you've become a member, it tries to tell Animal Jam "I just joined". For an account that isn't a member that isn't true, so Phantom stops it being sent.
What it can see
Your real membership and when it runs out. It saves your setting and screen name in the plugin's own storage, and nothing leaves your computer.
What it can do
You allow each of these in Phantom when you install it.
- See the game and draw over itgame:read
Everything the game shows and holds: the room, the people in it, your animal, your items and the game’s own screens. It can hear what happens in the game, draw on top of it, and hide or restyle what is on your screen. With this alone it cannot act for you. Only in the games you choose.
- Act in the game as youHigh riskgame:act
Anything you could do in the game yourself: walk, chat, trade, buy, press the game’s own buttons, and change how the game behaves. Some of that spends gems or diamonds, and a trade cannot be undone. Only allow a plugin you trust.
- Read the game’s trafficpackets:read
The messages between the game and Animal Jam, as they pass. Never your sign in.
- Send, change and block the game’s trafficHigh riskpackets:send
Messages to Animal Jam as though the game sent them, and to the game as though Animal Jam did, and changing or dropping messages on their way. Never your sign in. Only allow a plugin you trust.
- Only the games you pick
Everything above applies to the Animal Jam accounts you choose to run it on, and to no others. A new plugin runs on none until you pick.
Marked scopes: a person at Phantom reads each version that asks for one before it is listed.
